arper (played by Daragh O'Malley) is Sharpe's trusted sergeant of the Chosen Men. He is loyal, highly-skilled, will always be looking out for you, and has a wonderful sense of humour tempered with a little melancholy. He is a real sweetie. What he is most certainly *not* is ruthless, a word better associated with amoral cut-throats. Harper, like Sharpe, tries to do the "right thing" if possible. We did not take too kindly to a certain newspaper's aspersions cast against "our" Harper (in an article about the military, Sharpe and Harper were referred to as ruthless and amoral), and have set up the Harper Defence League to show our support and defend his good name.
